Wedding Celebration at Gemma in NYC

For the past few years, I've stopped at Gemma to fuel up with a big ol’ juicy cheeseburger before I begin my ascent photographing weddings at The Bowery Hotel. I’ve always adored the classic interiors and slightly stalked it with curious eyes, but had no idea that a romantic little room, hidden behind the server station and dripping in beeswax, ever existed.

Upon entering, it feels like old times. Like old New York. The bustle & chaos of the streets peering through white lace curtains, vintage candelabras set ablaze, and a beautifully patinaed mirror unapologetically splattered in wax reflecting decades of memories.

Bring in Niki & Darian; two Greek newlyweds who wanted to celebrate by hosting a delicious and intimate dinner with their family and the closest of friends. Lucky for me, I was seated among some of their most entertaining and boisterous friends… the cocktails flowed… and the pasta was great.
