All Together

A Callicoon Hills Wedding in the Hudson Valley

After doing this for 13 years, one of the most touching experiences I’ve witnessed was last year…

When guests arrived, they walked through what looked like a pop-up flower market full of large, wild floral stems and greenery & were directed to pull a few (you’ll find out why in a moment)

Marissa & Aron wanted to soak up every minute they could with their guests, so they ditched the hiding ritual (more of this please!) and welcomed everyone with a pre-ceremony cocktail hour. When it was time to get married, the couple and their 150 flower-holding guests followed the music down an overgrown path of wildflowers and ferns. As they stood under their chuppah, guests placed flowers in the four pots anchoring it. Besides the sweetness of guests decorating their altar, this gesture also served as a way to welcome, hug, & honor everyone who came. Yes, it added extra time because hugging 150 people isn’t quick, but damn, this was deeply special. Everyone coming to celebrate should feel this type of special attention, and this was such a graceful, thoughtful, and artful way to do it.
